Beginning Summer Session 2007 - It is no longer permissible to answer your cell phone while you are participating in an HLT APA match. If you are expecting an important call, please let your opponent know that a call may be coming & have one of your friends answer it for you. If it is the call you have been waiting for, please let your opponent know that the call has come & feel free to answer it. Keep it as short as possible, please.
Personal cell phone usage has become increasingly more popular, and has come to the point that it disrupts the flow of a match and can leave the perception that the player is being coached by a person on the other end of the phone.
There will be no earphones, blue tooth devices, etc allowed to be worn during a HLT league match.
The Ball in Hand penalty for answering your cell phone during your personal match will only be enforced during Higher Level Tournaments. During the Regular Session it is a Sportsmanship violation only.
